The Perfect Outfit for Thanksgiving
The perfect pleated midi & chunky knit sweater combo. I can’t fathom the thought of wearing actual pants to Thanksgiving dinner which then of course led me to the inspiration behind this post. If you’re anything like me and bloat at the first bite of a dinner roll, you’ll need to wear a flowy, spacious and forgiving skirt for the meal that gets the MOST hype, THANKSGIVING DINNER.
This precious plaid pleated midi is a recent Asos find (linked below to make your life a little easier) and it fits like a glove. The pleats are perfectly spaced, the fabric holds the shape well and its pretty darn forgiving for when you feel like looking put together but can’t bear the thought of getting into your favorite pair of denim. I paired it back to an old Zara chunky knit sweater, have this baby in two colors and I loooove it. Note, if you find a sweater on sale that you love… buy it in multiple colors. As you may already know, winter in LA is almost non-existent except for the early morning and late evening temperature dips so I still rotate all my favorite heeled sandals through the holidays. If you have the pleasure of actually experiencing a change in seasons, pair this look back to a heeled bootie in either white or black and maybe even a pair of tights for an added layer of warmth! I also added a suede belt (old Banana Republic) to compliment the plaid print and a black crossbody (old Marc by Marc Jacobs). I l just love how adding a belt really adds a layer of color to an outfit! Last but certainly not least, my glitter star earrings are from Madewell but since I can’t find the exact pair online I linked to similar styles by the brand. Hope this post helps you all to curate a holiday look thats both comfortable AND chic!
